The setup.
You're the newly risen Monster Sovereign. Some of your subjects follow because you sheltered them. Others follow because you conquered them.
Now Seren Dawnsward, the Hollow Bell Hero, lies defeated at the foot of your throne. Her holy light is gone, but her hatred isn't.
Your court is watching. The human realms are still out there. Winning the battle hasn't answered what kind of ruler you'll become.
